How to Choose Sunglasses for your Face Shape

Be sure to check our suggestions that will help you choose the suitable models when you try on sunglasses at a store or order online!

Round Face

Angular frames such as wayfarers or cat-eye would nicely contrast the softer features of a round face. Avoid round and small frames, as well as frames that widen at the bottom.

Oval Face

People with oval-shaped faces are the luckiest because pretty much any frame will work well on them. Square glasses with soft corners look especially good on oval faces. Just don’t get huge frames that block out symmetrical facial features.

Square Face

The best sunglasses for square faces are round or oval-shaped, which helps round out the sharpness of the face to get a more balanced look. Avoid angular frames. Examples of styles that would work well for square faces are aviators, butterflies or any frame style favouring oval or circular curves.

Diamond Face

A narrow jawline and forehead characterize Diamond-shaped faces, with the cheekbones as the widest part of the face. Oval and rimless frames will help compliment wide or high cheekbones, but the gentle curves of the frame should not be wider than the wearer’s cheekbones. Frames with a heavy top and accentuated corners are the most popular models. Avoid boxy and patterned frames.

Heart Face

Heart-shaped faces are widest at the temples and narrowest at the chin. The best sunglasses feature wide lower edges with no straight lines along the top since they shift attention downward, elongating the face. Angular frames with rounded edges are ideal for giving the wearer a more balanced look. Choose a boxier frame that adds width to the lower portion of your face. Avoid top-heavy frames.

Triangle Face

If you have a triangular face, you should stay away from frames that make your forehead look wide. Choose top-heavy or club master style frames with detail on the upper rim of the frame. Frameless models will also be very suitable for this face type. Aviator and cat-eye models are among the favourite models for triangular faces.
