These videos, shot by family members, show Elizabeth from infancy when she first travelled abroad with her family and became engaged to Prince Philip.

“The King’s Speech” (2010)

“The King’s Speech” takes place long before the queen acceded to the throne. Written by David Seidler and directed by Tom Hooper, the film stars Colin Firth as King George VI, Helena Bonham Carter as his wife and Elizabeth’s mother, Freya Wilson as Princess Elizabeth, and Ramona Marquez as Princess Margaret. Nominated for eight Oscars in 2011, “The King’s Speech” won Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director and Best Screenplay.

The Queen (2009)

The five-part documentary series “The Queen” reflects the highlights of Queen Elizabeth II’s life. In each episode, the Queen is played in turn by Emilia Fox, Samantha Bond, Susan Jameson, Barbara Flynn and Diana Quick. The actresses bring the Queen to life in the dramatic reenactments of the documentary. Apart from that, the documnetary focuses on the five most important events in the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, with narration, interviews and archival footage.
